Persyaratan Mutu Minyak Nabati dan Hewani Afrika Selatan   

Regulasi.

Regulasi ini diterapkan pada lemak dan minyak yang dapat dimakan (edible fats and oils) yang diperuntukan bagi konsumsi atau dipergunakan sebagai media, atau bahan dalam pembuatan makanan.
  • Lemak dan minyak yang dapat dimakan harus bebas dari minyak mineral
  • Lemak dan minyak yang dapat dimakan boleh mengandung:
    • Antioxidants yang diizikan oleh pemerintah (R, 1142 4 Augustus 1995)
    • Pewarna yang dizinkan Pemerintah (R. 1219 9 Juli 1993)
    • Standar untuk kemurnian dan komposisi yang dipergunakan mengacu pada Codex Alimentarius Standards untuk edible oils and fats atau British Pharmacopoeia.
  • Lemak dan minyak yang dapat dimakan, yang digunakan untuk menggoreng dianggap berbahaya kecuali mengandung (i) polymerised triglycerdes < 16%, dan/atau (ii) polars component < 25%

Ketentuan Impor.

  • Lemak babi dan lemak unggas, Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act No. 54/1972;  Trade Metrology Act No. 77/1973 GN R.1967/1964
  • Lemak binatang jenis lembu, domba atau kambing, memerlukan izin impor veterinary dari Director of Animal Health, Dept. Agriculture
  • Minyak salad dan minyak nabati,serta minyak kacang kedelai:  tidak boleh diimpor untuk dijual di RSA selain dari ukuran kapasitas yang ditetapkan, Trade Metrology Act No. 77/1973, hanya dapat diimpor ke RSA dari Zimbabwe dan Malawi sesuai dengan dan di bawah otoritas lisensi / izin yang dikeluarkan oleh DG
  • Minyak Zaitun:  tidak boleh diimpor untuk dijual di RSA selain dari ukuran kapasitas yang ditetapkan, Trade Metrology Act No. 77/1973
  • Lemak dan minyak nabati lainnya (termasuk minyak jojoba) :  tidak boleh diimpor untuk dijual di RSA selain dari ukuran kapasitas yang ditetapkan, Trade Metrology Act No. 77/1973
  • Lemak dan minyak hewani atau nabati, (
    • Harus dalam jumlah massa bersih yang ditentukan
    • Lemak dan minyak hewan sapi, domba, dan kambing hanya dapat diimpor ke RSA dari Zimbabwe sesuai dengan dan di bawah otoritas lisensi yang dikeluarkan oleh DG: Dept. Agriculture, Marketing Administration
  • Margarin; campuran yang dapat dimakan atau olahan dari lemak atau minyak hewani atau nabati, harus dalam jumlah massa yang ditentukan, Trade Metrology Act No. 77/1973
